A.I. is a true double-edge sword. While I am hopeful about this new technology and remain an A.I. optimist, I recognize the potential serious and significant harm that could also result from this technology falling into the wrong hands or escaping human control. I appreciate that the A.I. industry is taking steps to self-regulate, but I also believe that there is a role for government in this space, for the same reason there is a reason for government to prohibit drunk driving, or on a larger scale, to stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Put simply, after spending a significant amount of time listening to experts on all sides and researching this issue myself, I believe A.I will very soon present a substantial risk of involuntary harm, possibly at a catastrophic scale. Addressing these risks is one of the very few things the federal government should be doing to protect the American people.

Taxpayers should never have their money, which has been taken from them against their will, used to bailout failing corporations, banks, other business entities, or individuals, for any reason. There is no such thing as "too big to fail". In a free market, failing entities must be allowed to fail with no exceptions. Further, government should not play favorites by awarding subsidies to certain companies while not awarding subsidies to others. Subsidies are not only rooted in coercive taxation, but also unjustly provide one entity a competitive advantage over another in the marketplace.

Unions have the right to organize, collectively bargain, and strike. Organized labor is fundamental to workers being able to negotiate for a wage that reflects the value of their labor. Unions are a critical and essential part of the free market and must always be allowed to form and flourish freely without any interference from government.

The government safety net is fragile, unreliable, inefficient, inadequate, and rooted in coercion. We must replace this broken system with peaceful, sustainable, virtuous, voluntary charity. In a free society, charity must be voluntary and rooted in free will.
